FAMILY
Wife: Kate Rose (née Phillips), a former international gymnast who studied at the University of Sussex before working at IMG, the agency that represented Rose early in his career; that’s how they met in 2000.
They married in December 2006. Kate was on hand for one of his most emotional wins, the 2016 Rio Olympic gold medal, embracing both Justin and his mother Annie in tears afterward.
Children: Son Leo (born 2009) and daughter Lottie (born 2012).
A quietly classy moment: After Rose lost the dramatic 2025 Masters playoff to Rory McIlroy, the tournament that completed McIlroy’s career Grand Slam, Kate immediately embraced McIlroy’s wife, Erica Stoll, in a widely shared, genuinely touching photo. This small gesture captured a lot about the Roses’ character in a heartbreaking moment for their own family.
Of course, legacy: Justin and Kate co-founded the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation in 2009, fighting childhood hunger in Orlando, and launched the Rose Ladies Series in 2020 in response to pandemic-era tour cancellations, both real, lasting contributions to golf beyond his own playing career.
TEAM ROSE
Caddie: Mark “Fooch” Fulcher. Rose’s longest-running and most important caddying partnership, on the bag for over a decade, including his signature wins: the 2013 U.S. Open and the 2016 Olympic gold medal, where Fulcher was reportedly moved to tears afterward.
The two parted ways for a few years mid-career, then reunited in 2023 for the Ryder Cup in Rome and have stayed together since, helping Rose recapture form into his 40s.
Fulcher underwent heart surgery (mitral valve repair) in early 2019, missing the start of that season before returning for the Masters, with fill-in caddie Gareth Lord notably helping Rose reach World #1 in his absence.
Fitness & Nutrition: Bill Buckthorp is described by Rose as “much more than a fitness trainer,” managing his nutrition and overall physical program well into his mid-40s, a notable piece of how he’s sustained elite performance at an age when most tour careers are winding down.
Agent: Mark Steinberg (Excel Sports Management) has represented Rose since 2013 and also represents Tiger Woods.

MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
U.S. Open: Won 2013 at Merion, his only major title to date
Masters Tournament: Runner-up 3 times: 2015, 2017, and most heartbreakingly, 2025, losing a playoff to Rory McIlroy on the very tournament that completed McIlroy’s career Grand Slam
The Open Championship: Runner-up twice (2018, 2024)
PGA Championship: Best finish T3 (2012)
A career defined partly by just how close he’s come, repeatedly, to a second major: three Masters runner-up finishes alone is a genuinely rare and difficult club to be part of.
OLYMPICS
Won gold for Great Britain at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the first Olympic golf gold medal awarded in 112 years, edging Henrik Stenson in a tense final round. One of the most emotional wins of his career.
RYDER CUP LEGACY
A remarkable six-time Ryder Cup competitor across two decades: 2008, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2023, and 2025, on winning European teams in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2023, and 2025.
His individual career record stands at 16 wins–10 losses–3 ties across 29 matches, with a 60% points rate.
At the 2025 Ryder Cup, he produced a widely praised recovery shot from just off a cart path on the 13th hole, still delivering moments of brilliance in his mid-40s.
AWARDS
European Tour Order of Merit Winner: 2007
PGA Tour FedEx Cup Champion: 2018
The Payne Stewart Award: 2021 recognizes not just playing ability but sportsmanship and charitable contribution, a fitting honor given the Rose’s philanthropic work.
RECENT FORM (2026)
A quietly solid, veteran-caliber season at age 46: 1 win, 9 top-25 finishes, and an ace on the par-3 9th hole at the 2026 TOUR Championship, still very much a factor at East Lake more than 25 years into his professional career.
